RV Jazz -Oil Access Doors

I think this is what you get from the factory...do they look like Micky Mouse ears to you, too?

This looks like a big improvement on the factory supplied fasteners. They will require carrying a screwdriver with you to check your oil
and sooner or latter I'd slip with the screw driver and chip the paint. Maybe you are not prone to such occasional clumsiness.

This is closer to an ideal solution, imo. I like the flush catch and the fact that you don't need a tool to check your oil.

This is Bob Hasson's oil access door on his RV-6. Access is from inside the cockpit and there are no
tools needed - just push the knob. When the door is closed there is no appearant means of access. Note
how he hinged it so the hinges don't show when the door is closed. This is a lot of work but it's nice...and may
be worth the effort. I know Bob would say it was!
